WELL DONE UNDER 11s

A brilliant and much deserved win for the lads tonight in the cup against Greenmount.

Rawtenstall won the toss and elected to bowl first. At the end of Greenmount's innings they had made a good total of 224. In reply Rawtenstall U11s ended up with 241.

What was pleasing was the way in which the lads have taken onboard and put in to practice what they have been working on at training.

A faultless fielding display with each and everyone one of them attacked the ball, backed up and helped each other out.

They all held on to their catches, had a run out and Odens quick thinking also got us a stumping.

The lads Bowling was fantastic, line and length and in fairness all of them deserved more wickets. I still don’t know how they managed to keep half of those balls out… just as well we don’t play lbw in the under 11’s as they really would of had a load more wickets. (Wickets for Albert, George 2 and Dom 2)

The batting was much more positive and improved as was the running between the wickets. That said a few times I had to shut my eyes still!!

Still need to work on hitting the bad ball as well as defending the good but a massive improvement. Well done lads, a great all round performance.

Rawtenstall Under 11B Enjoying Their Cricket

Another good win for Under 11B this morning. A good mix of Year 6 and Year 5 lads, with one year 4.

After losing the toss Clitheroe batted first. Once again, we took a wicket from the first ball of the match! Ben with the throw for a run out, Oden at wicket keeper taking the bails off.

The bowling was excellent, only 2 wides in 16 overs. Best figures were Noah with 2 wickets for 10 runs, and Ben with 1 wicket for only 2 runs conceded. A great catch by Albert too. Clitheroe scored 214.

Very sensible batting display, blocking good balls and hitting the bad balls. We hit 14 fours overall. Top scorers were Albert with 18 and Asa with 13. Rawtenstall scored 267.

Well done everyone, hope they all enjoyed it

And the Under 9s last week :

Well played today team. Rawtenstall 238 Reed 202 Batting first we struggled to hit the bad balls but our score was boosted by some brilliant running between the wickets by Hussain, Bobby, Charlie Schofield and Aidie. Top scorer was Bobby Colton with 7 runs.

Bowling much better the team taking 9 wickets with Dylan Waterfield, Eddie Cook Martin and Bobby Colton each taking 2 wickets plus a superb catch by Hussain Mehmood. Keep up the good work!!!
